Scholarships for Native Americans

Wells Fargo American Indian Scholarship Program
For students pursuing a graduate or professional degree.  Applicant must be an enrolled member of a United States federally recognized American Indian tribe or Alaska Native group.  Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Award ranges from $1,000 to $5,000

Gerald Peet Fellowship
For students pursuing a master, doctoral, or professional degree. Although preference for students pursuing degrees in medicine will be given.

The Gates Millennium Scholarship
This scholarship is for full-time degree seeking, first year students. Applicant must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3 on an un-weighted 4.0 scale. Applicants with leadership skills and extracurricular activities are encouraged.

Tylenol Future Care Scholarship
Ten – $10,000 and thirty – $5,000 scholarships available.
Must be pursuing a degree related to the health field and completed at least 1 year of school.

Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship at UIC
For continuing UIC African American, Latino, or Native American undergrad and professional students. Must be enrolled full-time and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Applicant must have Junior or Senior status in the fall after applying.  Fifteen $2,000 scholarships will be awarded, five $5,000 graduate fellowships, and five $5,000 professional fellowships will be awarded annually.

Aspen Institute – William Randolph Hearst Fellowship for Minority Students
For students seeking to gain experience on issues relating to philanthropy, volunteerism, and non-profit organizations. Scholarships are open to students of any major and awards range from $2,500 to $5,000.
