UHP Community Advisory Council (CAC)
The UHP Community Advisory Council is another success component of the Program. The University and UHP continue to be advised by key community leaders representing a variety of community agencies and organizations. The membership brings constructive recommendations to the Council’s meetings and helps disseminate information about the UHP’s programs to students and partners in the community. The Council, as a group, has been receptive to new ideas and innovative program strategies; and it has adapted to new concepts appropriate to the ever-changing environment of health professions education. The council is chaired by Dr. George R. Smith Jr, a faculty at Chicago State University and Alum of the UIC School of Public Health. Other notable chairs have been Dr. Linda Rae Murray, a local physician an alum of the UIC College of Medicine, and Ms. Earleen Lindsay a local community activist to name a few. Their service and dedication have contributed greatly to the council’s effectiveness.
